A heads up to all new members and those who wish to become members,

In order to gain full membership of this site you MUST atleast use your first name as your forum user name, I for one don't want to have to address people as silly things like "Obladonk" and "Gingercabbageminge.com2010" . It clearly states in the rules your username MUST atleast be your first name.

Hello..

Quick message from me tonight regarding the future of the website. Lee has brought it to my attention that the websites slowly dieing of death and that something needs to change. With this moment the website has been opened up to new members and the password function has been removed. I am currently working on a "New member" introduction system that they will have to go through to get full site access.

Thats the easy part though, The hard part is going to be dragging the site back above the water line! So if you have any ideas of where we can go from here please do let me know.

My first thought is simplification of how the games run, basicly relaxing the N&P system to basic system which will let people get on with the game without waiting on public N&P's and this will also make Andy Wards life much easier and give him some of his life back.

At the end of the day, I know many of the players have other issues including myself and life comes first. This is why I think the website should be simplified so that we can all have a bit of fun on here without the added hassle of trying to keep it afloat. I want a website that has minimuim input from the boss guys.

So..... Lets start the ball rolling!

P.S The website wont be coming offline as Lee thought as all updates have been done tonight without any problems! (First time in OTW's history!)

Sometime in the next 2 weeks, We expect the group to be down for up to 4 days (although we hope it won't take that long).
This is to facilitate a re-hash of the operating system which could entail the removal of the password function.
As most of you may have noticed this group is not doing very well activity-wise and is currently under review by the mod team. We are hoping to re-hash the OS to provide added security and to open the site back up to the general public in the hope that "new-blood" will revitalise the site.
Several existing members asked for a locked group and it doesn't seem to have worked, so, once we've ironed out the kinks,we'll try it as it once was for a short period.
IF this move doesn't work, then it's likely that OTW will cease to exist as quite a few long-term and senior members have found themselves immersed in the real world, and as we all know, that aspect must come before the game.........people move on and gain other interests or lives and to be honest, the way the game is set out is geared for at least 20 regular full-time players being able to keep it rolling, which right now isn't happening.
As i said above, the site will close shortly for us to re-hash the operating system to admit all again and if this doesn't work........the current level of play shows that OTW may not be as popular as it once was and therefore may be killed off.

As a TRIAL, I intend to mirror the real Showbus on here.

On Sun 26th September, vShowbus will be held on group. For this trial, there are some simple rules:

Each player is only permitted to send 10 vehicles (as its 2010) to the rally.
All vehicles do not need to be pre-approved, however, if you want to send a bus you MUST do a net. No sending buses with no nets.
Only vehicles you own can attend the rally.
Only nets of vehicles you own can be done.
No nets to be posted before Saturday 25th September. No players will run shuttles.
